Product Leaders Forum - BLR 2017 - From a Volunteer's eyes

Product Leaders Forum is an annual conference for Product Management professionals which happens in Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore. This event is by , of and for the people who are passionate about Product Management. This year it happened in Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Pune PLF was on 18th Aug 2017 while Hyderabad PLF was on 4th Aug 2017.  I was lucky enough to volunteer for Bangalore PLF which happened on 15th September at Aloft, Cessna Business Park, Bangalore.  There were talks to be given on 4 tracks namely Deep Tech, Growth and Scaling, India Opportunity and Product Market Fit. There was also time set for CXOs Panel Discussion and CTO Panel Discussion and keynote address. Apart from talks, the event gave us lot of networking opportunities to meet and great people who had been doing phenomenal work in the product management space in the country. Value Management at Tanishq Store

Based on my observation and discussion with the staff at the Tanishq store I could understand the productizing process at Tanishq. I could map their productizing process to my learning of 5 different phases of productizing framework.  Understanding the value  They do following to understand the value proposition they have to create: They do market research They conduct surveys in which they ask their customer to fill certain forms. In the market surveys they try to find  How often customers will do jewelry shopping For whom customers will buy jewelry Customer age Customer gender Occasion for which they will do shopping Whether they will buy only from Tanishq or buy from other Jewelry stores also. Example of a Great User Experience Design

During Executive MBA at Institute Of Product Leadership one of the courses is User Experience Design and Prototype. On second day of our class I could appreciate great UI which I had encountered while working on Medtronic MyCareLink Smart Mobile app at Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. About this app: 1. This app was meant to be used by senior citizens of US (or India or any other country) who are not tech savvy. They might not have ever used a mobile phone forget about having used a smart phone. They might not be very fluent with English also. 2. This was a medical device ported to a mobile app. It has a very serious purpose of transferring data from a live pacemaker to hardware device (RF Reader) over Radio Frequency. RF Reader transmits this data to Mobile App over Bluetooth. Mobile App sends this data to hospital Care Link server over WiFi or data connection. Oh Boy...Simply Too much technology for senior citizens who had never even held a mobile phone in their hands. So...
